Overview
Through AspirationalX, I provide 51eleven — a construction consulting practice specializing in owner’s representation for complex modular and off-site construction programs — with the shared operational, technical, and administrative layer behind a practice running multiple active projects at once.
Concretely: I set up and maintain the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira projects, Confluence spaces, permissions), the Google Drive structure, and Slack channels; coordinate branded reporting out of Jira for internal and client-facing use; integrate IT systems; and contribute to the operating strategy that lets the practice scale across projects. The work began in September 2023 and was formalized under a services agreement in November 2025.
This is what the shared-services model is for. A growing practice needs an operating layer — project tracking, reporting that looks right in front of a client, document structure, accounts and access — and building that in-house is rarely the best use of its people. The trade-off is deliberate: the practice keeps its attention on construction, and the operating layer is owned by someone whose job is operating layers.
The test of the work is legibility: a project’s status, documents, and reporting should be findable by someone who was not in the room — which is what lets a practice run more projects than its principals can personally hold.
