What I think about repeatedly is usually a signal. It often means I am trying to understand a deeper pattern, resolve a tension, or make sense of something important enough that it keeps returning.
Very often, that means systems: how they are structured, why they fail, how they scale, how people move through them, and how they can be made more coherent and humane.

- Operating AI agents as production systems. What it takes to run autonomous and semi-autonomous agents with the same discipline as any other production service: deployment, observability, tracing, evaluation, and steady improvement loops.
- Capital structure and venture design. How financing structures, decision rights, and obligations hold up under stress — and how to design ventures where they do. Writing the Lumate AdTrade case study sharpened this thread.
- Delegation and operational legibility. Building operations that survive without any one person’s memory: documented processes, structured access, and systems that let other people genuinely take things over.
- Systems for life balance. Developing systems that help hold work, family, health, and meaning in proportion — treating balance as a design problem rather than an act of willpower.
