QuickBooks

QuickBooks is Intuit's small-business accounting platform — a tool I know well but no longer recommend, and one I help clients migrate off of.

What It Is

QuickBooks is Intuit’s small-business accounting platform. I have hands-on experience running real books through it — it was one stage of the migration described in Mint Finance Organization.

Where I Stand Today

I know QuickBooks well enough to use it, extend it, and pull data out of it, but I don’t recommend it to clients for new work — the reporting and integration ceiling shows up fast once a business outgrows basic bookkeeping. If you’re on QuickBooks and weighing what comes next — a real data pipeline into a warehouse, a purpose-built tool, or a cleaner accounting stack — that migration conversation is one I’ll have. See Collaborate.
