Overview
Built accounting and point-of-sale data warehouse ETL processes and data models for restaurant franchise analytics including Blaze Pizza and other chains, serving both kitchen operations and CFO-level financial reporting.
The engagement was with Hypersonix, a BI and analytics SaaS company serving restaurant franchise enterprises. Multi-location franchise data is deceptively hard: every location produces point-of-sale and accounting streams with their own quirks, and the same warehouse has to answer questions at two very different altitudes — a kitchen manager asking what sold yesterday, and a CFO closing the books across the whole chain. I built the ETL pipelines from the ground up, designed the warehouse schemas that reconciled POS activity with accounting reality, and developed the BI dashboards that sat on top.
The pattern this entry marks: the same data engineering discipline built at Lumate and Great Data Lake — messy high-volume streams into clean, decision-ready models — applied inside someone else’s product, where the deliverable had to be maintainable by their team after I left.
