Radio control systems have interested me since I was young.
Part of the appeal is simple: remote control felt magical when I first encountered it. I remember having a garage door remote and receiver as a kid and thinking it was incredibly cool that a signal could cause something physical to happen at a distance.
That interest grew naturally into radio control, robotics, and other systems where communication, control, and motion all come together. I like the way these systems make feedback, responsiveness, and cause-and-effect visible.
RC cars were a big part of that for me. I often got one for Christmas, and my favorite was a blue truck with small Nerf missiles that was durable, easy to drive indoors, and fun to race with friends. Those experiences were playful, but they also taught me something lasting about control systems, physical design, and the satisfaction of operating something well.
